Affiliate Unions
Our union, UFF-UF, is an independent “chapter” of the larger United Faculty of Florida (UFF). In addition, we are part of the Florida Education Association (FEA), the National Education Association (NEA), the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), and AFL-CIO.
United Faculty of Florida (UFF)
UFF-UF is a chapter of the United Faculty of Florida (UFF). UFF represents more than 25,000 faculty members and 8,000 graduate students at all twelve of Florida’s public universities, sixteen state and community colleges, and four K-12 laboratory schools.
UF Graduate Assistants United (UF-GAU)
UF’s chapter of Graduate Assistants United (UF-GAU) is also a chapter of UFF. UF-GAU represents all of the teaching, research, and graduate assistants at UF.
Florida Education Association (FEA)
UFF is local #7463 of the Florida Education Association (FEA), which represents more than 250,000 educators in Florida from K-12 and higher education institutions.
National Education Association (NEA)
At the national level, we are affiliated with the National Education Association (NEA), the largest union in the United States representing over 3 million education workers.
American Federation of Teachers (AFT)
In addition to our connection with NEA, we are also affiliated with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), representing over 1.8 million education workers.
AFL-CIO
AFT is a member of the AFL-CIO, the largest federation of unions in the United States. We participate in the AFL-CIO’s North Central Florida Central Labor Council.
Membership Benefits
Dues-paying members of UFF-UF are also members of the FEA, AFT, NEA, and AFL-CIO. As such, we are eligible for the member benefits offered by all of these organizations.
