Chapter Resolution in Support of Striking Workers at Rutgers University

Whereas: the three unions representing 9,000 workers at Rutgers University, the state university of New Jersey are officially on strike as of April 10, 2023,

Whereas: the three unions, the Rutgers Adjunct Faculty Union which represents part-time lecturers; the AAUP-AFT, which represents full-time faculty, graduate workers, postdoctoral associates and counselors; and the AAUP-BHSNJ, which represents faculty in the health and sciences departments — have attempted to negotiate a contract for a year with their administration,

Whereas: the administration of Rutgers University has failed to negotiate in good faith with the three unions,

Resolved, that the United Faculty of Florida, UF Chapter sends a message of solidarity to the three unions at Rutgers University and a contribution of $250.00 to the Rutgers Strike & Solidarity Fund which is the strike support fund administered by the three unions.

Resolved, that UFF-UF send a copy of this resolution to the Rutgers University unions as well as to Rutgers President Jonathan Holloway
